I'm an old rocker who turned to jazz, so I know my opinions (not arrogance) will be attacked, but I prefer Geddy Lee, and John Entwistle is highly underated. However, none of these guys even come close to the great Jazz and Jazz/Fusion guys. Jaco and Stanley Clarke were the architects. Check out Jeff Berlin. To categorize him as a mere bass player is a disservice. He is an amazingly versitile musician. Most rockers (not to mention most jazzers) can't even touch him.
