I agree with you fully, Copper0 I can't believe you'd say that about Pavarotti, Mariah is an amazing singer, yes, but Pavarotti is a legendary opera singer, much more talented.

it's such a shame that people are concentrating on who is the better singer here. Music is about feeling and emotion not who has the better capabilities, and this is an amazing performance.

Im Sorry for all you opera lovers, Im not a devout mariah fan. But to say mariah sounds like a child at the side of pavarotti?!Her voice is fenomenal and if its childlike i prefer childlike.Pavarotti has a powerful voice, but im sure ill upset some people by saying his or any other tenors do nothing for me. i prefer mariah. shes amazing.

This one's funny... the Italian version has nothing to do with the original, I mean, the words are not even a remote translation of the original song. Then Mariah for sure doesnt understand a word, but is acting and making faces than have nothing to do with what Pavarotti is singing.

wrong wrong wrong....mariah killed this with over the top vocals, why is she stretching lines out to death like at 0:42 or 0:55? can she not just sing the song straight? i like her original version of this but she's not doin a good job here. pavarotti's vocal is so much more pure and authentic. i believe him when he sings can't say the same for mariah here.

she may be talented but you're fooling yourself if you think this is a good vocal performance. she finish's well but her tone and vocal control in the lower register has gone really bad, i think she'd admit this herself. as for vocal acrobatics there's a place for it but when you use it in every single line you sing it ceases to add anything to the song and will leave any intelligent listener wondering if the singer is really feeling the song or just getting off to the sound of their own voice
