They say on here that its "legal" to take fruit if it hangs over onto the sidewalk. By their definiton of "legal" a car parked on the street would be fair game too. Personal property is personal property. These hippies need to get real.

Thats a poor analogy. A car is a specific piece of property. Stealing it is obviously illegal.
When you buy land, you buy the plants within the property borders. If they end up outside the property boreder, then they are by definition the not part of the property.
A fair car analogy would be removing a headlight, drop it on the sidewalk, walk away and then still expect no one to pick it up.

You know there is a huge difference between theft, as in coming onto your property and taking pieces of it away, and taking something that is found on public property. They are picking fruit in parts and from branches that have clearly grown outside of the property borders. If it grows beyond the border, it isn't your anymore. Its the same as the grass that grows out of the lawn and into the cracks in the side walk.

You hardly see all the foragers in this video, so don't be so quick to judge. Also, middle to upper class people are easier to organize because they have things like computers, the internet, transportation and time on their hands.
