Squirrels Everywhere! 7-8 Week Old Squirrel Antics!

Uploaded by: elizalalala
Video Description:
I am a wildlife rehabilitator. This video is of baby squirrels play fighting each other, going up their rehabber's pant leg, nibbling toes, climbing brick walls, bathing, losing their balance, playing with fingers, and other squirrely activities. These squirrels have all been successfully released back into the wild as adults at this point.

They don't really make easy pets. They need a LOT of room, chew things up, pee everywhere, and they attack anyone who didn't raise them as babies.

They are two different species and they are both very wild. Squirrels chew things up to keep their constantly growing teeth filed down, so they can really damage the inside of a house.

I don't know, these aren't pets and were released as wild adult squirrels. Once squirrels grow up they need a LOT of room, they attack anyone who didn't raise them, they chew things up, and they pee everywhere. So, not really an easy pet.

As treats, but not as a main diet. If squirrels have nutrient deficiencies from the food they are getting they usually die.

Almost never, though I still don't recommend grabbing one to check. As a wildlife rehabilitator, I also have an up to date rabies vaccination.

Yes, I did.
If your squirrel is truly wild, I recommend building or buying a squirrel house, letting your squirrel get used to the house, and then putting the house up in a nearby tree so you can release it. If your squirrel can crack shelled nuts, it should be fine. You can put food in a bird feeder to help supplement it in the wild.
