| The original was a simple song with a big message. All the notes are not suppose to be stretched out for 5 seconds. Just because you have a powerful voice does not mean it matches up with every song. A great cover of the original is done by A Perfect Circle. That cover is a lot better then this crap. Listen to it and tell me I'm wrong but then that's my opinion. |

| You know, perhaps the version you refer to speaks to your soul which is great - some think that the only version is Lennon's...also understandable...but to describe David Archuleta's version as "crap" is just so wrong...This kid's voice brings tears to my eyes...he reveals his soul when he sings....that's just how he affects me...in ending, music is a personal thing - if you are moved, it's purpose is realized...some like chocolate, some like vanilla but it's all good...thanks. |

| I apologize in advance for criticizing everyone's dear "archie" but I must put in my two cents...Absolutely no one can sing this sing without ruining it except for John Lennon. In this rendition, Archuleta didn't ruin the song, he absolutely butchered it. All the little ornamentations he put on the melody comletely destroyed the beautiful simplicity of the song. Yes, David Archuleta is a wonderful singer, but his gross misinterpretation of this song made me want to cut my ears off. |

| Hannah, with all due respect, if you didn't like this version of Lennon's classic, your ears are already cut off. David has the utmost respect for the song and its legendary author, and brought a warmth and purity that only he can convey. Yoko Ono was quoted as saying that she loved David's version and that john himself would have loved it. Get on board, girlfriend. David Archuleta is a great singer, and it's just the beginning. |

| First of all, I never said he was a bad singer. I said I hated his interpretation of the song, not the sound of his voice. Thats great that Yoko Ono liked his performance, but liking it solely because Yoko liked it isn't a very valuable opinion at all its it? Yes "Archie" is a good singer, but I don't think he is as AMAZING as everyone insists. I think many are so emotionally taken by his voice, not because of its brilliance, but because of their infatuation with the person, not the music. |

| Hannah, thanks for responding. I mentioned Yoko only because I believe that her endorsement somehow validates David's performance. Many other singers have covered this great song, without such props. As for why people love him, it's because his voice is an extension of an inner beauty which has not been seen in decades. The person and the voice are the same thing. They are not 2 different entities. It's that connection that sets David apart from the pack. Listen with your heart, Hannah. |

| when David auditioned I thought he would not get through. But when he sang "Imagine", I literally jumped off the couch and said "there is your idol, right there" I recognized something in his voice that many people appreciate very deeply. However some, including my 14 year old son don't get it. That's okay. My son likes death metal. If you prefer angry screaming and vulgar images you are not going to like David. |
