| I still have not seen any of his movies, though I would like to. Why bother, well, maybe I will appreciate what people call genius. I try not to be completely prejudiced without having some knowledge of the topic. I do not care about his personal life, if I did care about stuff like that, I would not be such a fan of a lota of celebs who have very questionable personal background.Oh well, too verbose, but I still will rent a Woody film. |

| The personal life of Woody Allen has troubled me but not to the point of making me not want to enjoy his art. But this question is a difficult one. I love Seinfeld, but the character Kramer became much harder for me to laugh at when I heard about his racist remarks. And it's hard for me to appreciated the poetry of Ezra Pound, even though he is a great poet. |

| Try "Annie Hall" for starters: then "Crimes and Misdemeanors" for a good example of his more modern mature stuff. "Bullets Over Broadway" is the best of his funniest mature stuff. Don't bother anything before "Sleeper" though "Play It Again Sam" is okay. |

| For me Annie hall is the best Woddy Allen movie, but i disagree with you in one thing. "Take the Money and Run" is his best movie before "Annie Hall". "Sleeper is a great movie, no question about it, but his first movie is a true comedy masterpiecce. |
