All forms of Taiji are practised for health and relaxation, but without martial intention these benefits are reduced. Get some push hands going, try some of the martial applications, you may be surprised at just how much of a difference it will make to your solo form. Also, small aside, at 2:15 I see some quite nasty overbalancing and caving of the back going on. Again, martial application would show this up as a weakness and it would be self-correcting. Good Beginners Video though, keep it up!

Maybe they just don't know any better! No compared to some terrific vids on Tai Chi here on youtube its not brilliant BUT it does show beginners and it really is for beginners. We also wanted to point out the Internal aspects of the form which is the whole reason for doing it. A lot of other vids leave that out. While its fairly obvious that the health of the spine and internal organs are critical in overall health, its often forgotten in the search for a gym toned body and glamour mag image

Hi OOOanBee, just seen your video it was good,ive been doing Tai Chi Chaun for many years now, and was disapointed to read a comment from Gridfire about it..i read is comment and though is this man for real? first you need to understand the soft part of Tai Chi Chuan, to be any good at the FaJiang he probably does'nt know this name :) its energy releasing, the martial side of Tai Chi,my master said to me once, understand yourself,be of good nature to fullfill your tai chi,keep up the good work:)

Very good words, look after your spine, never strain etc.etc.
Why then do you then ruin your spine by leaning, straining and stretching far too far forward all the time?
Suggest you study how Chinese Tai Chi Masters move if you want health benefits.

You know there are different family forms; different styles within those. In this style, based on traditional yang but with some differences, its possible to open the spine out straight by sitting into the front hip and leaning forward so that there is a straight line from the very top of the spine all the way down the back; the straight line continues to the heel of the back leg, then through gentle stretching you work on getting good dynamic tension. Believe me - no stress!

Terrible stance, poor posture and center, where is your center of gravity you are to maintain. NEED A LOT OF WORK especially in flexibility and legs. Legs have to be strong so you can bend and hold your weight, center must stay in the center so your spine and back get strong and stay straight.
