I met her in the 60's when my group had the great privilege to back her up. Before she became famous, she had come to California to do a gig for a week. All of the top acts came through here on the circuit. I have great memories of meeting these very generous performers, for their willingness to share of their experiences and advice. It was quite a mind-blowing adventure for a 16 year old kid to rub shoulders with these consummate artists!
