Was fortunate enough to catch a session in O'Donaghues in Dublin recently. There was an older guy playing and singing, he was very good. Later on I asked him if he would play Raglan Road he replied that he would have a problem with this request as he considered that the definitive version of this song had already been covered. Says it all, there is only one Luke Kelly and we will never see his likes again. RIP Luke

A million thanks to Kelly O'Neill! I emigrated from Ireland just before Luke Died, God rest his and Ronnie's souls. Half a world away I have been moved by listening to that great voice again. I saw them live in the Gleneagle Hotel in Killarney in the mid-'70s - what a service they did for Irish traditional music and ballads!
