What the fuck? The description for this video is all wrong. This has nothing to do with Microsoft Surface. Perceptive Pixel makes their own stuff on top of Linux. Jeff Han is a legend, don't mix his stuff up with Microsoft's junk. There's a much more high-res video at perceptivepixel dot com, do yourself a favour and check that out instead.

Oh, far more productive. You'll be able to manipulate any data by hand, and simultaneously. Multiple people can use the same workspace. Referring to the video: He was able to modify 2 dozen pictures in a matter of seconds. This idea could be applied to just about any work type.
The first of these were made for military use. I'm thinking it would be a fantastic way to do systems development with the right set of developed tools. Not to mention CAD, GIS, and Analysis based professions.
