Benson goes way, WAY back as an acclaimed artist in the "cool post-bop" and "straight-ahead" jazz eras (early 1960's), and has shown superb musicianship and adaptability over the decades...I remember, 'cause I'm an OLD SCHOOLER who knows about this stuff from back in the day!
