I don't care how smart you claim to be, the point is that people who are powerful and associate their power with religion are the people who are detrimental to society and cause fuckwits like you to go apeshit over anyone who wants to believe in a higher authoity. Take Islam for example, Islam is a peaceful religion in itself, but for those who take it to extremes, they make it seems like it is all mindless violence. Keep my opinions to myself? Haha. No, I won't be doing that. Ultimately, people can believe in whatever they wish. And I'm not against the possibility of a higher power. However, anyone who firmly believes in any of the organized religions that exist today has either been indocrinated by parents/guardian/role model, is desperate and seeks comfort, or just uneducated. ALL gods on earth are social constructs; fabrications. Higher power is one thing. Allah/God/Yahweh/Shiva, etc. is another.

"We use math, philosophy, and science now. Religion has nothing left for us." You have clearly misunderstood the meaning of this video. Having a blind faith in science, philosophy and math is roughly the equivalent to a blind faith in religion. Consider the innumerable ways in which science has been detrimental to the world. Take for example modern bureaucracies, the disease vector for formal rationality, which has just as much, if not more, potential for irrational and inhumane action.

Haha. Thank you for the witty and delightful commentary. I thought it would be interesting to put Christian and Bible in the same post and see what would happen... It didn't attract as many offensive comments as I thought it would! Kudos on being the first to play though, and for the very orthodox textbook answer! It's great to get to share our opinions, isn't it? Seriously though, this animation is very provocative.

Provocative? Maybe. It's pretty honest stuff though. Of course, as a Christian it's really tempting to see Satan where Vedder put Death. Especially since she's female. And I've always been the most prophesy-doubting Christian I know. Obviously (least to me) the world's gonna burn unless we change human nature, but I've always wondered - could you exercise both God and the Devil in one go with genetics?
