(CONT... of part 1 -see below-) These two gentlemen are the best academics the US has right now. There're serious, well trained, very clear when expressing themselves, and also very brave. What more could you ask! And for those of you who "think" to know something about IR, they are NOT both "offensive realists". (For those others... NO, "offensive" is not like if they insult people, but a theoretical school). Stephen Walt is a defensive Realist, and John Mearsheimer is an offensive one.
And one last thing! ... ( 7 months ago by nicoterradas)
And one last thing! How can anybody STILL mix up Walt and Ken Waltz. I suppose that if you know both names you must be some sort of an IR student. SO, have you not read a thing? People WAKE UP! Don
´t talk seriously about those topics you don´t manage. Please! It´s OK to opine but refrain from those stupid comments like you were specialists of some sort, 'cause you aren´t. Face it! These two studied their whole lives to be in a position to speak of such hot topics. Better listen and learn

Agreed with most of ... ( 5 months ago by adrianucker)
Agreed with most of what they said but, sorry, when they afirm that Israel's intention in fighting Hezbolah was to punish the Lebanese in general I think this is a quite suspicious simplification. If this is how they explain Israels bombing of infra-structure then they are clearly biased. This is a maliciously simplistic explanation. It was war against militia that was based in civil areas and exclusvely used civil infrastructure like buildings, roads and bridges. Let us criticise with fairness.

every sentance that is said here is siting in my heart like a poem I have waited for such a realism from inside USA for whole of my life just normal logic and reality processing and openly debate in the light of self interest of this great nation which was and is a leading power in our human civilisation the United State of America
It is true that ... ( 5 months ago by adrianucker)
It is true that both begin with "po" but in all else poetry and politics differ. These two academics do bring a lot of senseful, well founded ideas, as they have to by definition. Nevertheless, there seems to be some biased simplisms carefully interwoven in their discourse. These guys are really, really smart.
These guys are true ... ( 5 months ago by cayrick)
These guys are true patriots. They tackled and highlighted an issue that threatens the very existance of the United States; that is war against Iran precipitated by pressure from pro Israel lobby groups. They went into this writing project knowing full well that they would be attacked and verbally persecuted. Isn't it ironic that they can't get published in the US but there is no shortage of criticism and verbal abuse published in the US press.

mr.adrianucker hallo (there seems to be some biased simplism) is not what you are saying, a try to discredit these gentlemen u r not saying that what they have found out is a lie u r just attacking the speaker not the subject

Willie 123, I explicitly addressed an issue ("Israel's intention in fighting Hezbolah was to punish the Lebanese in general"). Please don't choose to ignore facts.

adrian we all must have an interest in the issue of a powerfull, democratic, helpfull and a just USA which, by the god given economical, political and militry power, can give the world a lot of stability and help to fight dictatorships, extremism, hunger and invirometal catastrophies but said that, the americans must come to the conclusion that in their foreign policies not the bible but their own national interests and their own secular and democratic standards should be the guidline

such clever, informed and patriotic gentlemen are the answer to the problemes that face USA today and may save the USA these are the ideas(debate openly and transparently) that has made USA big in the passed and is a garantee that it will be so in the future and that USA not have the fate of USSR which because of the arrogance of its leaders crummbled down before our eyes which will be a great loss to our civilisation

'If this is how they explain Israels bombing of infra-structure then they are clearly biased. This is a maliciously simplistic explanation.' Considering Hezbollah is based in south Lebanon and Israel bombed roads and power stations etc all over Lebanon including the north, you seem to be talking shite. Israel is the worlds premier rogue state.
RepublicanStones, ... ( 4 months ago by adrianucker)
RepublicanStones, Israel's strategy was to target structures that served Hezbollah. Bombing a UN headquarter and other mistakes were tragic exceptions. Israel could not have conceived to gain with that. And in spite of the south being an almost autonomous Hesbollah region, Hezbollah has premisses and operations in the rest of Lebanon, and amunition and arms come through ports, airports and roads all over Lebanon. In fighting Hezbollah, Lebanon's suffering was not desirable, it was unavoidable.
how could they be ' ... ( 4 months ago by lonewolf1369)
how could they be 'tragic exceptions' when the UN lookout was on its own and Israel precisely knew where it was. They were also precision guided missiles. Besides, by looking in the Talmud we can see where all this destruction is coming from. Judaism's holiest book explicitly states hate against Christians, gentiles, and non-Jews and says killing and stealing from them is okay. IDF soldiers ask rabbis how they should deal with civilians during war!!! The Talmud is racist and self-worshipping
Lonewolf, you ... ( 4 months ago by adrianucker)
Lonewolf, you obviously didn't read the Talmud and is motivated by anti-Semitism. This goes beyond being anti-Israel.You are simply racist. Others in this forum disagree with me without having to appeal to your repugnant motives.
AIPAC, when ... ( 4 months ago by JohnnyRock2000)
AIPAC, when challanged denies everything. It is incredible, but the control is exercised way in the background by educating politicians, bringing them to Israel and making clear Israeli views and goals. AIPAC directs huge amounts of Jewish interest money to the appropriate candidates. If you don't vocally support Israel...your opponent will get jewish campaign funds and you won't. The result? You won't get elected. Because the money does not come directly from AIPAC, there is deniability.
Johnny, AIPAC is ... ( 4 months ago by adrianucker)
Johnny, AIPAC is indeed an efficient lobby group, and I also agree some of their interests are selfish, perhaps even driven by paranoia. But I would disagree with the idea that their campaign contributions define who is elected and who is not. That seems to be impossible for ANY single lobby group to achieve.

You have to think AIPAC and the Lobby is going well beyond legalized bribery. They can use the mass media to attack those who don't play ball -- I believe this is called blackmail and/or extortion

There clearly were a lot more "tragic exceptions" than there were strikes on Hezzbollah. Surely you know this?

Probably 90% of their actions are within the current law. I believe that their motivations are for Israel at any cost...which means at any American cost. They would indeed sacrifice American lives, economy, reputation to further Israels goals. If one could prove a conspiracy of manipulated documents, lies etc. and could actually prove fraud against the American people, but how is that done, when they have such power? Retiring politicians should disclose their experiences.
They don't even ... ( 1 month ago by oldjoe5)
They don't even have threaten those who oppose them. It is well known that their media people will be used to destroy any major politician who speaks out, along with moving vast amounts of money to prevent his or her re-election. Another big problem is how much influence they have in the judiciary. When Israel literally bulldozed American citizen Rachel Corrie, all attempts to obtain any justice legally were thrown out of court and these dismissals were upheld upon appeal. It seems hopeless
