Well as far as I've read the movie is not made according to history but it was meant to be a movie verson of Frank Miller's comic book 300. they did say that they sacrified historic accuracy for something a bit more spectaculous. I too believe it's a bit too much Holliwood flavour in it but...I liked the spirit of the movie. And the script.

yeah it was a great movie, not at all historically accurate but lets face it no one got up off their asses to see this movie for that they just wanted to see all the gore. and sorry for going off on you cyrusiancyrus, just so many people are whining about tyhe movie, because its not historically acurate, well duh, it was never meant to be and it's hollywood here, hollywood doesn't have a single smart or honest person in it lol

it is basically correct as in a few fought off many for a while and the Spartans stayed when they know that they will lose. and this movie was based on the comic not history anyway!!

@jack: in the real history we were no barbaric people , we detested and abhored slavery and you know that the barbaric culture has no interest in knowledge of medicine and another sciences .and the last point a barbaric culture doesnt think of saving the people of another culture .we had great knowledge and we saved the people from captivity . to offend something is easy but it is not fair.

wow that was an amazing video and its so true, oh and to all those people that are like "it's not historically accurate, so who cares" well i find a good amount of North Americans have used it as a history lesson, if i had a nickle for every person that thought 300 was remotely historically accurate, i'd be richer than bill gates.
