Well yeah, if you have a better mobo, you can overclock higher, but this 5000+B/E can overclock to 3.1Ghz with most of the cheap mobos out there (less than $60). That's what's so special about the balck edition.

I only got the regular 5000+ just this week. Would I still be able to overclock it? My motherboard is by Abit. If that fails, no matter, I'm getting a Phenom in the future.

OK, so i buy this 5000+ BE and put it in my mobo which is Gigabyte GA55-S3 nForce 550, + 2 gigs of DDR2 @ 667Mhz, how much can i overclock it with no problems at all?? But to be stable clock, for every day use. Anyone?

you want to compare a 2 core to a quad core ? Smard guy what can I say. that's not even closely fair... compare a phenom with the Q6600 if you want... the phenom goes up to 3.2 on box aircooling... but with any cooling it doesn't go more then 4 ghz ... or at least nobody succedede... the Q6600 reportedly goes 5ghz+(liquid nitrogen cooling) so oc is way better on that chip :D. The difference of the topdog phenom and the topdog intel is about 6% at 3ghz... which doesn't explain the intel pricetag.

I have this CPU with a Asus M2N32-Sli Deluxe and 2Gb of Cas4 Corsair DDR2-800 and just changing the multiplier to 15.5x, I am running 3120 MHz (3.12 Ghz) with a Zalman 9700 HSF on medium speed. No problem and completely stable. I multitask and can run COD4-MP, Teamspeak, XFire, 12 tabs in Firefox 3, G15 software, windowblinds, 3 instances of Rcon, and a complete Internet Security software package and still be smokin right along.
