Vector-based don't make something not a game. Are Flash games not games? Flash uses vector graphics. Many N64 games used vector-based textures, I believe.

I was born in 1972 and my family owned a Pong console. No one I knew had one and it was the greatest thing my 3 year old eyes had ever seen. I am not a big gamer, but oddly, playing Pong is own of my earliest tangible memories. I still remember my parents telling me not to play too long or the game would wreck the tv. We never called it a video game, to us it was 'the tv game'.
