Yeah the Movie and the book are pretty much completely different in the book there is a boiler in the basement and they explain that jack torrence was taken over by the overlook and the hotel blows up with jack torrence in it and also mr. halloran survives in the book the movie in my opinion sucked because it had nothing to do with the book
