The German term Sturm is the equivelant of the English term assault in military usage. It has nothing to do with Star Wars. And you can compare the empire from Star Wars to any nation, including the US, so I don't really see your point there. If anything I always thought it better reflected the British Empire and the way Americans viewed their rebellion against it.

He made the empire to be directly relatable to the nazis, no use getting upset over it. Even the uniforms of the officers are inspired by the garb the german military officers wore.

no the stoßtruppen were called stormtroopers in english, they were very much a big part of the german army, used throughout the first world war.
But, to end the argument, george lucas himself has said that the empire is based on and inspired by nazi germany and he even named planets after german generals.

Yes, it was absolutely an allegory for the Nazis. However, it was also allegorical to the British Empire and their relationship with the American Revolutionaries. This has been used to explain the English accents (of course there was production logistical elements behind that choice as well), the Rebellion's modus operandi, etc. As well, there's also a bit of Roman Empire (in regards to Caesar) in Papa Palpatine's story.

WOW he had a lot of soldiers, no wonder he was kicking ass in the beginning. If Japan never attacked the U.S the U.S would have never intervened in the war to begin with. There were actually a couple joint American-German marchs in which German and American Flags were flying together.
