That is the point. Konami thought it would go down well with Americans. BATTLE THE COMMIES! It was called Green Beret in the UK and everywhere else outside of the US and Japan.

Yeah, that one had pretty good music for it's time. However, Famicom Konami games had an enhanced sound chip in them also.
