Uploaded by: UISTMAN59
Video Description:
A song by the late, great Canadian folk singer Stan Rogers, from his album, 'For the family' from 1983 or so. Garnet Rogers play the solo fiddle piece. I didn't get enough pictures to do justice to the song. Hope you like it anyway. Buy the album, there are many great songs on it.

My name is Ariana Kelland , Otto Kellands youngest grand daughter. He was born in Lamaline in 1904 and died in 2004 just before his 100th birthday. The song was written about a homesick fishermen not himself. He wrote it while wokring at the St. John's pennatentury at which he was a warden.
The author was a prison guard at HMP St.John's.
It is argued that the music is form a wwestern movie. I found a very old English tune with the same rifts.
It is lovely.
