In light of the rantings that went on for 30 minutes by two colleagues from the other side, I'd like to state for the record that America is not tired of fighting terrorism; America is tired of the wrongheaded and boneheaded leadership of the Republican party that has sent six and a half billion a month to Iraq while the front line was Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia. That led this country to attack Saddam Hussein, when we were attacked by Osama bin Laden. Who captured a man who did not attack the country and let loose a man that did. Americans are tired of boneheaded Republican leadership that alienates our allies when we need them the most. Americans are most certainly tired of leadership that despite documenting mistake after mistake after mistake, even of their own party admitting mistakes, never admit they do anything wrong. That's the kind of leadership Americans are tired of." I'm not going to sit here as a Democrat and let the Republican leadership come to the floor and talk about Democrats not making us

I'm not a Sen. Vitter (R) Louisiana supporter but I feel bad for his family's embarrasment.
I think Vitter needs to be replaced by a democrat so Louisiana can catch up with the 21st century.
If he resigns, he'll put a republican in office but when it's time to vote in 2008, Louisiana voters need to elect a democrat so Sen Landrieu (D) Louisiana can have a real tag team partner.

well, at that time, bin laden wasn't a threat whereas now he is but that stupidhead bush hasn't done anything to do in saudi arabia or afghanistan. the reason he aint gone into saudi arabia is because he will lose his oil. the only reason he invaded iraq was because of his oil. so don't go ranting on about clinton or the democrats when obviously your own party (or at least i think it is) is in deep shit leading america the wrong way, taking away our civil liberties and bankrupting us!

Do you really have nothing more to offer in a discussion than talking points? Might I suggest you take some courses in history and economics, if you get a decent grasp of either you will most likely cease being a libtard. Tax hikes are very bad in an economy largely based on consumption. Tax hikes on corporations are recycled to the consumer, less for people to spend. Tax hikes on the rich stifle investment, less job creation. Raising taxes in any sector of the economy is bad all around.

I live in this state as well, and I don't see how you could vote for someone who was completely liberal--more liberal than Landrieu is--just four short years ago. As a Republican, I heed the advise of all her Republican supporters such as the Slidell mayor and Hammond Mayor and a bunch of other Republicans who have endorsed her in spite of these comments. She rarely ever says these things; she was just taking up for the D in her party that funds her campaign. John Kennedy supported John Kerry!
