It's originally written by Buffy St. Marie, a Cree Indian folk singer and was released in 1966, a time when the Vietnam war was still fairly popular so it was an act of political courage on Donovan's part to release it. It's not on his greatest hits album, which is a little disappointing, but did express a growing sentiment among many at the time. After it came out you started hearing people say things like "What if every soldier put down his gun?"

There are various ways of downloading any YouTube video. A very simple way is to use
KeepVid. (Google it.) The only thing you have to do is to call the video that you have downloaded something .flv (if you've got Flash Player), such as Donovan.flv

Try (YouTube) watch?v=tv9acOYxK9w If that's what you're after, I think maybe the title should be "Song of the Naturalist's Life", rather than "Song of the Naturalist's Wife".
If so, perhaps it should have "Life" in the title instead of "Wife".
