He's Swiss-Turkish so of course he counts! Besides, the rules state that at least one of the people - writer, composer or performer - has to be from that country, as far as I know.

I think your song was way overrated as well; I'd rather have seen someone like Lara Fabian almost beat Celine Dion - but still lose. :) I admired Terry Wogan for taking this so well, though you could tell that he was heartbroken. "That is a REAL heartbreaker," indeed.
