It's not necessarily a cheat code, but more of an access code. It doesn't give Mac any special powers, but just gives Mac direct access to Tyson. It's a real code that's built into the game.

There's about 15 different videos on here explaining how to properly play Punch Out. It explains how much damage certain punches take off or certain combos hit for more damage than others. Before you make a comment and look like an idiot, because you could never beat the game as a kid (or now), don't put down someone who HAS figured out the game isn't just pressing left, right left, right until you make a hit and put the guy down.

It's been a long time since I've played but I think you're right. The punches we see here take are taking more damage than they normally do.

for anyone that doesn't know, during the first 1:30 Tyson does his 90 seconds of fury where he just throws uppercuts.
to hurt him so much during the first 90 you have to hit, pause, then hit.
then during his wink punches, you have to dodge, pause, and hit. it's not about doing MORE damage, it's about wasting less time by hitting him once instead of twice.
this has been done countless times.

The code earlier is a code to get to tyson right away. But this guy did something to make is punches take much more energy off of tyson!! I said it before, and I'll say it again. You CANNOT beat Tyson/Mr. Dream in the 1st round without using any cheat codes/game genie's etc!!!

It would make more sense for Tyson to say punches because it's a boxing game and him knowing it's a game is kinda creepy. by the way, you're horrible at using caps so you should just stop using them, no matter how cool you think you are.
