Yes, they are too ... ( 4 months ago by seanmartin23)
Yes, they are too conservative. The Emperor of Japan remains neutral but time comes, we'll never know. Japan is always surprising.
Of course, they are ... ( 4 months ago by seanmartin23)
Of course, they are not. What I'm telling is, they could go to war if there is pressure from the their enemies. Like for instance, US is using Japanese Government as their puppet in their continuing effort to expand their military ambition over East Asia.
acting as the ... ( 4 months ago by 92GH)
acting as the puppet gvt bcoz the japanese military is very weak.
Your a certified ... ( 4 months ago by seanmartin23)
Your a certified manipulator. The Japanese will never allow that. I'm not talking to battleships nowadays. I'm talking to Japanese Modern Navy. British navy is too weak compare to that of Japan nowadays. Your talking too the highest level without knowing the reality. Maybe you can compare British Navy Gallery to Japanese Navy Gallery, there you see what you don't believe. The way you talk, wow, impossible. Incredibly trying to put the British Military at the utmost limit. How incredible.
i know that ... ( 4 months ago by 92GH)
i know that nowadays the British is alot weaker than it was but it still is better than the jap navy. like u say, its only battleships in the jap navy. a single fighter jet can singlehandly take several out simulatenously.
aircraft carriers make up a navy nowadays
And one thing, ... ( 4 months ago by seanmartin23)
And one thing, Japanese Aircraft Carriers is expanding while that of Britain remains the same. Although, British Navy had released their newest and most modern aircraft carrier.

the British navy has just had 4 state of the art air defence destroyers built. The type 45
The Diamond, Dragon, Dauntless and Daring.

JSDF, this stands for Japanese Self Defense Force. Another one, JMSDF forever, JMSDF Fleet Review 観艦式2006(Rehearsal), Japan Maritime Self Defence Force...Japanese state of the art destroyers can be seen here, all of them are related videos but there are so much more...
however, Japan's ... ( 4 months ago by seanmartin23)
however, Japan's carrier fleet was numerically and qualitatively superior to the American and British fleets...that's according to the Americans...even the British Carriers had served successfully in the war,the Royal Navy found they could no longer build massive carriers, they always lost money in expense.
Not the case. ... ( 4 months ago by warshipworshiper)
Not the case. Lighter shell, lower muzzle velocity (speed at which the shell leaves the gun barrel), and less armor penetration ability. The KGV class, armed with these guns, were the weakest-gunned of all modern battleships. They were also notorious for gun failures and mechanical problems. Even Duke of York when she battled Scharnhorst, managed less than 75% successful firings. Gun failures were a big reason why Prince of Wales was forced to disengage Bismarck.
The exploding ship ... ( 4 months ago by warshipworshiper)
The exploding ship you see in this video is NOT the Hood going up. It's a stand-in chunk of generic footage, just like most war films use. If it moves, shoots, or blows up they throw it in the mix.
Germany NEVER ... ( 4 months ago by warshipworshiper)
Germany NEVER outranked the Royal Navy. Britain had about a ten-to-one numerical superiority over the Kriegsmarine on 09-02-1939. And Nagumo's IJN carrier force was the best in the world by the time of Pearl Harbor. Germany might have been third from the bottom, but sure as hell not the top!
Yamato and Musashi ... ( 4 months ago by warshipworshiper)
Yamato and Musashi were never built to strike fear into other navies. Haven't you ever seen "Dr. Strangelove"? Nobody knew much about Yamato/Musashi, because they kept them a closely guarded secret. If they wanted to instill fear, they would have made damn sure those other navies knew about them and very early in their existence. Look how much fear Saddam Hussein caused with his so-called "Republican Guard" before Desert Storm. THAT lasted about what...two days?
Sorry to correct ... ( 4 months ago by Mancastrian)
Sorry to correct you, warshipworshipper, but lighter shell (ie lower calibre) certainly doesn't = lower muzzle velocity. In fact, given the same amount of 'charge' the exact opposite is true !
(Compare long barreled PzKw III with short barreled PzKw IV for instance).
Although PoW had a lower calibre than Hood, she actually 'outranged' her, and could have opened fire on Bismarck earlier than she did, if V.A. Holland hadn't let 'decorum' dictate that she DIDN'T open fire before the flagship !

Is there any genuine footage of either the HMS Hood or Bismarck being sunk? I feel like I'm being hoodwinked with all of this false footage.
Last known ... ( 4 months ago by Mancastrian)
Last known photograph of HMS Hood is the one you will come across, is the one taken from the port side of HMS Prince of Wales.
There's also one of the PoW (and the smoke from Hood's explosion), taken from Bismarck(?).
There's also a photo of a distant Bismarck while under fire from HMS George V and Rodney.
Sorry if you feel cheated, but I guess the guys were a LITTLE busy, at the time, to anticipate your request.

there was a documentary on her the other year. They found her but i cant remember the details, google it. She might not have been the most up to date ship at the time but she was iconic and stunning.
