This is an unboxing and first impressions video of the Dell Studio Hybrid, a desktop PC running Windows Vista Home Premium SP1. Configured with an Intel Core 2 Duo T2390 (1.86 Ghz) CPU, 3 GB of DDR2 RAM, a 250 GB 5400 RPM hard drive, an 8x slot-loading DVD burner, and an Intel X3100 GPU. The colour is "Ruby", and cost me $744 Canadian with taxes direct from Dell.

Nice. What you could do is put it on ur t.v shelf plug it into ur t.v, get a wireless keyboard & mouse then it could be a sort of t.v computer all you have 2 do is turn ur t.v to av.

Hope you dont mind me saying so but because of its size it doesnt look like it packs a punch. Are you even able to modify the insides on your own or does it need custom dell hardware?
Please tell me its specs on the inside if you can. Does anyone know the max ability of these eee pcs?
I dont mind small as long as its compatible and can stand long and hard tasks.

How do you define "punch"? RAID hardware and SLI graphics? No, it can't do that. I define punch as a fast CPU, lots of RAM, and a big hard drive - which it can be configured with. The biggest problem is the GPU - it's just not fast enough for Media Center, but as a general desktop PC, it works really well. For the specs, look in my sidebar or on Dell's Web site. There's not much you can upgrade on your own, perhaps the hard drive. Remember this is all built on laptop parts.

Yes, that's what I'm planning on doing, though not with this Dell Studio Hyrbrid. I bought an HP Slimline computer instead.

Should i get one of these or a mac? i can get a studio hybrid with blu-ray, 4gb of ram and a 250gb hdd with a 24'' hd display for a few hundred bucks less than a mac with a lower spec. any ideas? windows would be more suitable for my needs but i don't really like vista and osx is AWESOME! plus the studio hybrid looks cool

Well, do you like OS X so much more than Vista that you'd be willing to pay more to get less? That's ultimately the question you need to ask yourself. ;-)

My daughters just got the studios (one red and one blue). I bought them refurbished through Dell, 4GB, 2 core, 15.4 screen and they are in love. We got the no questions asked 3 year warranty for $269.00 and the $70.00 in home technician (comes to the house to inspect). With both heading off to college, this was the BEST warranty security I could ask for. I ordered them less than a week ago and they arrived today We got the McAfee virus scanning and the Windows Vista was included!$981 total

Do you mean DVI to VGA? It has DVI on board, so I assume that's what you mean. No, it doesn't include a DVI to VGA adaptor. They're pretty cheap to buy though, and come with virtually every video card sold, so it shouldn't be hard to find one.

Yes, it has a DVD burner and there's an option for a Blu-ray drive. Please check out my other videos and you'll see the optical drive in use.
