I hope to address more verb tenses in the future. For now, feel free to post sentences that you have doubts about and I can comment.
for example: we had a trip to singapore last summer, "which" was nice. or I use, we had a trip to singapore "that" was nice?
Please explain between the difference of this two word.
thanks.
My best regards
Due to heavy rain /Owing to heavy rain/ Because of heavy rain/ On account of heavy rain there will be no classes today.
I'm from Brazil and I like your videos very much. Tomorrow I'm going to make a presentation, it's like a test-class, I don't know if you understood what I mean, but the thing is, I'm going to use this issue, if you don't mind, almost like the video that you post here and I have a doubt. What's the difference between: ADVISE and GIVING ADVICE. It seems to me there's no difference. But you have showed here that they are different. Isn't English a little complicated sometimes?
1. inquiry is the same with
2. enquiry..
thanks.. its already 2:18 am im still watching... i started from the first video that you posted heheh its a lot...
does my question has a wrong grammar? please tell me..hehehe
ADVISE and GIVING ADVICE are the same in meaning, but they differ in the situations we use them in. We don't usually ADVISE OUR FRIENDS. We GIVE ADVICE TO OUR FRIENDS. ADVISE is usually more appropriate when the person doing it is an authority of some kind. Most examples in dictionaries support this.
When talking about weather, we often use DUE TO: Due to heavy rain, due to flooding, etc. You'll also hear BECAUSE OF and perhaps ON ACCOUNT OF. I don't really hear OWING TO in the context of weather.
...I found out/ I learned that the spelling of the noun and verb are different for "advice" and "advise". Can you please add this topic to your list of upcoming videos? What other words change their spelling when they're used as nouns or verbs? Can you please correct my grammar? It's very poor.
