MV3 - Berlin - The Metro

Uploaded by: crashsite000
Video Description:
In the early 1980s not everyone had cable TV. In Los Angeles a sort of new wave American Bandstand was the alternative to cable's MTV. It was called MV3.
This syndicated music video show featured (1) the latest music videos as a backdrop to (2) local dancers and (3) lip synched performances by artists such as X, The Plimsouls, Lords Of The New Church, Oingo Boingo, Berlin, The Bangles, Missing Persons, English Beat, Thomas Dolby, Psychedelic Furs, Adam Ant etc.; artists that were currently being played on KROQ (Los Angeles).
Three hosts included then KROQ DJ, Richard Blade, "comedian?" David Maples, and "actress?" Karen Scott.
Trivia: Blade and some of the regular dancers also appeared in an episode of "Square Pegs". Bret Easton Ellis mentions MV3 in his book "Less Than Zero".

lol i only tolerate this song because i liked the SOAD version, but i hate all music featuring a keyboard for its main instrument; guitar, bass, drums, and vocalist, all u need for a band, and based off of breexcentric's comment i expect a little bit of hate for this lol

Heh...you sound like dave mustaine. LOL Yeah no one ever needs keyboards. Whatever. Tell that to Type O Negative. Let me know if you still have your face intact and unharmed. SOAD has a good version but the song would not be here if it wasn't the original grou--so you kinda need to honor the original too. Keyboards have a place in music. Try taking a bit of music history or music appreciation classes. :-)

Hey don't get me wrong, and well looking back on my post i guess theres only one way to get it. Of course i appreciate the keyboard doesn't mean i have to like it though =) and i always honor the originals. Even when im not a big fan of the mainstream 80's =D

LA was and is the ... ( 1 week ago by jeffrojune1970)
LA was and is the fusion of all pop culture. In the late 70s and early 80s, LA punk/progressive/surf slammed face first into the new wave synth sound coming from Western Europe. No matter what part of the country the band was from, they came to LA to record if hitting it big. Or, they were already in LA playing the underground club scene. Think Kim Wilde, think Go Gos pre-Vacation, think Repo Man soundtrack, think Missing Persons, more...
