Thanks for posting this-- when I saw it at the summit, I was moved to tears and I just love watching it over and over again. As a KIPP teacher, it just reminds me why we work so hard every single day and what the results will be down the line when our students graduate from college and become successful citizens.

A couple of my close friends dropped out of Teach for America a few years ago, discouraged by the limits set on the volunteer teachers by administrators, tying their hands. They both felt there had to be a better answer to bettering our nation's education for the underprivileged. Is this it?

Although I'm not mentioned, I helped Mike & Dave with that first KIPP class back in 1994 (I'm in the picture on the right in a black & white vest). I'm so proud of all of the KIPPsters - even those who are not mentioned in the video who are success stories in their own right.
