My squirrel

Ok... too many people ask how I got this thing so here. (PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE TRYING TO GET ONE ON YOUR OWN!)
Last Easter he fell out of his nest and while the lil kids were looking for eggs we found him. We put him back under the tree we thought he fell out of for about 15 minutes. I felt bad cuz it was a little cold out and I was worried because we have cats that lurk around the neighborhood, so I went out to get him. As SOON as he saw me he started whining and ran up to me and crawled up my leg. It was the cutest thing I had ever seen, so I kept him.
after a few months we started letting him outside to play and stuff. We even let him "go" in a tree. That plan failed because he then came back every night and slept inside, then we'd let him out again every day. He eventually stopped coming back at night (we think he found a gf or something, lol) cuz we still see him around every once in a while. I miss him a lot :( He was the coolest pet I've ever owned and probly the cutest.
But! Just realize... Squirrels are ILLEGAL to own. and are VERY hard to take care of if you don't know what you're doing. They require a VERY specific diet. You can't just feed em nuts and crap. DO NOT go out and try to get a full grown one on your own. He WILL bite your finger off and some of them can carry diseases. If you do happen to get a hold of a baby one, please try to put it back in the nest, or near the nest so it's mom can get it (if you have animals like cats or dogs, try to put him up high and keep a close eye on him). If it doesn't come back after ATLEAST 20-30 minutes or more then try taking it to a vet or some kind of animal shelter. We live in the middle of nowhere and didn't have somewhere to take him. We read up on squirrels and took VERY good care of him. For the first week or so we kept him in a big cage (because he was still a little guy) then we let him run free in our sun room (like in the video) We even had a small cat box type thing which he ACTUALLY used. and my dad made a tree type
structure with a nest on top that he loved to play on and sleep in. We took VERY good care of him and we are lucky to have found him at the age that we did (not too young... and not too old) He was happy with us (hense the reason he came back every night) and it was awesome. If you do by chance FIND one that is IN NEED OF SOMEONE TO TAKE CARE OF HIM (NOT go out and look for one and steal one from its mother) and you DO decide to keep it. PLEASE read up on it as much as you can and give it the good diet and nutrition that it needs. You'll be surprised at what he needs and how much care that is necessary to raise a pet squirrel. They're also not the easiest to clean up after. We let him run free in the sunroom and he would literally SHIT everywhere. But luckily squirrel turds can easily be swept up with a vacuum. lol So every other day we'd have to go in and sweep up his shit. He'd also chew up anything. Luckily the only things we have out there is the chairs and table in the vid, and an old ass piano that we
don't use.. but the keys on it were ALL fucked up and chewed up. lol
