| I love Beyonce, but I think that Karyn is prettier than her. Karyn looks natural. At least in the 1990s, black female artists were all skin complexions. Nowadays, light-skinned, and even non-black women are dominating the RnB charts. It's always been like that, but not in alarming numbers as it is now. Karyn White is very pretty, but she's not as light as Beyonce and Rihanna. If she came out today, her record sales will be low because RnB is full of fair-skinned black female singers now. |

| Karyn is a very beautiful woman and I also think that shes prettier than Beyonce and Rhianna. Up until the late 1990's, black female artists of any shade were treated equally or near equally. Tracy Chapman and Lauryn Hill would definitley NOT get the treatment today, they got 20 years ago and nearly 10 years ago, respectively. Lauryn Hill was the last dark-skinned female superstar. |

Karyn should've held on longer, but once New Jack Swing faded in 1993, all the top selling artists in that genre faded too (if not with NJS, then they faded by the late 1990's), except for R Kelly and Janet Jackson! |
