Adding Garfunkel's voice really helps. Shame that this album (Graceland) was a solo effort, because the harmonies that they do are better than just Simon solo...Just my 2cents worth

Some of the best music ever composed. Simon and Garfunkel are wonderful together. In response to wildcatter63, the Graceland album couldn't have been any better. Its a different style of music; world music. Theres deffinately not any "shame" in any of the music Paul Simon puts out.

It's funny, I think Paul Simon is maybe not into this song in the beginning. Maybe calling it in? Shame the camera cuts away from his only vocal solo at starting at 01:24, that brings a lot of people to their feet.
Then the horns kick in at 01:52, bringing more of the crowd alive, and Steve Gadd gives his two-crash climax at 02:15.
When we come back to Paul, he is a man transformed. His eyes are dancing, has a huge grin, he's loving it all. It carries the rest of the song to the too soon end.

So sorry, I should have noticed that Steve Gadd has a three-crash climax at 03:00 that's not on the video but that brings the song on home.

Exquisite in its early 80's naiveté. The pop world owes a lot to Paul Simon for bringing in world influences when the rest of his generation were going down a dinosauresque cul-de-sac.
