They went on hiatus in 1997,but anounced rebirth in 2007.
few concerts were held since then,and on November 22 there will be another one in Paris.
hide (hee-day) is the deceased member. He was the lead guitarist,but he isn't replaced. They may recruit a new member,but no one will ever replace hide,for he was is and will remain the best :)

no, they won't be getting a new member. Anyway, after the tour, it is still undecided whether they will continue producing as x-japan. Toshi have a solo concert to host too, with help musical helps from other bands. And none, they didn't went on a hiatus in 1997, they really broke up. and there are plans to revive it on 2000, but it was never fulfilled, due to hide death.

Well,according to MOST of the news sources,they are thinking of getting a new member (quoting Yoshiki "..New face might appear in our band..")
and yes,they did went on hiatus (I hope you know the meaning of this word..),that's why there were plans of reviving the band..

I dont mind if they will get a new lead guitarist for new songs. Whoever that will be,he won't replace hide,that is just imposible :)
But if they will try to re-arrange old songs with the new guitarist..many fans will turn away.
