Since when is hard work a criteria for autism? And savantism does not equal genius. Kim Peek, the inspiration for Dustin Hoffman's character in the movie Rain Man, is mentally retarded but can recall some 12 000 books from memory. Please give me an example of a contemporary genius who diagnosed with Aspergers syndrome.

Kim Peek does not have Asperger's syndrome or autism, he has a significant brain abnormality. He was born without a corpus callosum and part of his brain was exposed outside of his skull at birth (encephalocele).

Hitler was a psychopath, psychopaths don't care about other people. However, people with Aspergers care deeply about others but we're a bit clueless about how to go about showing it.
Its very interesting to see a group of Aspies at a set traffic lights, even if there is no traffic, if the lights are red Aspies never cross the road, its funny to see all other people cross (break rules) while Aspies wait and wait for the lights to change. Aspies obey rules rigidly/digitally.

Yes, I did a Mensa WAIS test in 1994 and I got 138 (top 1%), I also did the Ravens Standard Progressive Matrices a few months ago, I got all the questions right; the IQ ceiling on the SPM is 131.

I don't know, I was only given the full scale IQ. My verbal IQ was said to be very high in an aptitude test I did, and my mechanical reasoning was "off the charts" (highest in the school).

Yeah, maybe if people who get picked on, bullied, etc. for being "different" from mainstream society didn't have to go through that incessant crap, maybe we wouldn't have had the school shooting incidents at Columbine and Virginia Tech. Not to say that bullying gives the target of such license to kill, but nonetheless I can see how bullying can cause one to lose perspective and feel despondent..and that could result in much hostility and frustration against the world around them.

Thank you. Just try to realize that haters ("trolls") are just insecure about themselves, and wish to take it out on those they feel are somehow "worse" than them, especially for being "different." People with autism (including Asperger's, which I have) cover the same gamut of intellectual ability as "normal" people do...oftentimes, the autistic person will have some strengths the "normies" can't seem to realize, and vice versa I know. They can both complement each other; why not just get along?

It doesnt exist. Just because someone is different doesnt mean they have some neurological syndrome. They just have a different personality from the norm.

In "Allen et al 2008. Offending Behaviour in Adults with Asperger Syndrome. Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders, 38, 4, 748-758."
In England & Wales, only 3 people with Asperger's are in prison, out of a total prison population of 100,000!
Amongst Non-AS people in Wales & England, 148 out 100,000 people end up in prison. Therefore, people with Asperger's syndrome are 50 times less criminal than non-AS people.

I forgot to point out that there are ~100,000 with Asperger's in Wales & England, and if they were as criminal as non-AS (148/10000), then 150 people with Asperger's would be in prison ... not 3.
