you dont need to draw to use paint. All you need is a picture. Simple scan a picture and you can edit it in paint.
Well to cut in the development time I guess..the core isn't that new! It is Vista!
See Windows XP was the perfect combination (and yes it took till Sp1 before it really was stable enough) of a gaming/media and yet work OS.
I agree Vista in the core is safer I YOU USE IT SAFER! Beyond that it didn't add that much it wasn't a killer upgrade.

In the early days software was just equally expensive as parts. Right now well having to add another 300 dollars to your order for software on a 500 dollar pc. Yeah that hurts!
Look at XP< a king among OS's(including dhitty Mac's)
This Windows 7 will be an upgraded form of vista, meaning faster, and it would cause much less of a headache.
shure, you wouldnt have a background.. but could you imagine playing games on an OS that takes up as much memory as firefox. Damn!
The reason people complain about Vista taking up too much ram is because when its not in use, Vista will cache commonly used files so they are accessed quicker later.
If more ram is needed the files are dropped.
You would be stupid not to use Vista, unless your running it from a computer built in the stoneage.
When really they are probably running good old Windows XP HE.
Also because Vista mimimum requirements are so high and it is so expensive it is missing out the NETBOOK market. You know the CHEAP laptops!
People nowadays see that you don't require a super expensive pc..laptops are hot and for some a netbook is perfect.
But for some people they may need to have that extra performance.
The requirements aren't high at all, at hardware prices these days it doesn't take a lot for an extremely capable machine.
And this time..they are not looking as happy as they we're at Vista and Office 2007. They look more with that look in their eyes "So what did you add that makes an upgrade for us the thing to do?"
And right now the alternatives are of such quality..those underdogs aren't so bad! Also the way they bought a standard that is unusable..it is all negative news!
They have a system like this, but they would complain that XP isn't secure enough.
