I agree with you completely, the only thing standing in the way are the politicians otherwise we would have manned mission's to Mars.Doctor Zubrein (spelling?) is doing his level best to persuade congress for the funding,we are better equipped to go to Mars today than we were when we went to the moon which was only a result of the cold war space race,Dr zubrien has the logistical side worked out to a tee, travel light and live off the land so to speak when we get to mars.

what's the name of the international space station? and is it the true that NASA will rely on the Russian spaceship for it's space program?
The International ... ( 1 month ago by Teslaguy)
The International Space station IS the name of the international Space station. (Earth is Old English for dirt, and what's our moon's name? Moon.) NASA will be using Soyuz until about 2015, when Orion is ready to use. Orion is the spacecraft of the Constellation program, and will also be used to go to the moon around 2020.

Indeed, the ISS is mainly managed by the European Space Agency: it could be possible to write ESA's International Space Station. The time, before the two WW happened, when some of the countries making part the EU were the world-leaders is coming again. Europe will rule!
Although, as a ... ( 2 weeks ago by klingon333)
Although, as a child of the sixties I would have at least expected a moon base by now, the space station is what it is, more of a triumph of co-operation than any thing else; which in it's self is a 'giant leap for man kind'.
Quetion is..
Would you want to inflict what is to all intents and purposes a primate society on the rest of the universe,... even if we were able.

lol if it wasn't for U.S.A and russia there would be no iss space station period. first of all esa doesn't even have a space shuttle or space craft to carry astronautS to the station. they don't even have a spacecraft to carry parts to assemble a space station. LOL, Without any of this how would they build a space station LOL IF ANYTHING THEY SHOULD CALL AMERICA-RUSSIA ISS SPACE STATION :D

America has already ruled, we've already been to the moon. Sorry buddy Europe is 40 years late. Maybe you guys should have tried to beat us in the space race in the 60's! Even if america may be on it's knees right now we will rise again!!!! don't worry america has done it before during the great depresion.

ESA has the ATV. It carries supplies, but not major components. if america pulls out of the ISS, it will not go russia's ccontrol. its orbit will decay and it will be destroyed. russia can't control as much of the ISS program as NASA does.

I agree. European Space Programs are not receiving any real funding compared to the Americans. Hopefully through the European Union Funding will get Serious In a few decades time. I`m impressed by America. If only we had one language. It makes everything so much easier. Thankfully with project like Galileo Navigation / Airbus A380 / Iter Fusion /and the Large Hadron Collider Europe is at least slowly taking the lead on some fronts.
