yeah that is the problem audis, are so porky, they have terrible understeer due to their poor engineering and engine placement. They rely on all wheel drive systems to make up for their poor chassis. An m3 with the 335 engine would completely outclass that car. Audis are quick luxury cars bmws are luxurious sports cars. drive one to know the difference. Plus a bmw is a bmw and an audi is a volkswagen.

yeah the weight issue, common problem with all audis, as well as poor weight distribution because interior space is seen as a priority to audi and they don't push the engines closer to the center of the chassis. There wouldn't even be a comparison if that 335 had the same suspension and limited slip diff of the m3. Audis makes some fast luxury cars, bmw makes luxurious sports cars. even the 7 series performs.

well the s5 was 5000 pounds more expensive. I'd say m3 vs. s5 is a fair comparision. both are V8s and are in the same price class. Being a avid BMW fan (And the fact that the BMW m3 churns out 420 hp, 70 hp more than that chunky, understeer Audi) I know the M3 would stomp out the s5 completely. I think fifth gear knew that too. and to give audi a chance, they drove it against a popular BMW car and NOT the top of the line M series.
335i has 300 Hp.

m3 vs s5 is fair. both are at the top segment of their series. both are V8s. both are in same price class. the problem is, is that the bmw will wipe the audi out, so they were forced to use a less powerful bmw, which won in any case. at least it was exciting eh?

The S5 isn't even in the same class performace wise, as the M3. You can't just go pricewise because then there'd be loads of cars that would get outclassed. Traditionally, it's based on the car's abilities, not the price. Shoot, look at the Nissan GT-R...at $70k, it dominates it's competition. It's all about a car's abilities.

The GT-R embarasses cars more than 2 times that amount. That's why you have to start at a car's abilities first, then factor in price. Literally every magazine does it this way.

I subscribe to CAR magazine and that's exactly what they do. You might be refering to their recent article where the GT-R beats other more expensive supercars. But I'm looking at it from a consumer's point of view! I'm not a multimillionaire who can afford supercars. So for me, it's really important how much they cost. And therefore for me, the most relevant comparision is the cost to performance ratio. I think automotive journalists should rethink the way they go about judging cars. :o)

Thats real intelligent of you to just sum it up so childishly like that. You don't compare Audi S's to BMW's M's. You take each manufactures top-of-the-line cars. Audi's is the RS and the BMW's are the M's. its not S to Ms Im sure you were just thinking oh, well duh, its single letter to single letter therefore I know what Im talking about.

TheGody is rite! The BWW in this vid is a stock 335i Coupe 6MT with the sports package. Which is what I have only with a Dinan software only mod. 421 lb-ft@4300 rpm and 384 hp@5700 rpm . I am smoking everything in my path. What a terror! Thank you Dinan!

Yeah, quite. I'd love to see the V8 M3 pitted against the S5. I think it would be embarrassing. Yet again, another tribute to BMW. 50BHP less, but still beats the Audi. Plus- look at the smile it put on her face :)

dude, that's how you should be sitting.
A tip for an excellent driving position:
your wrists sould be touching the steering weel when stretching your arms with your shoulders against the seat.
That way you have enough space for quick turns.
You could also sit in a car like an idiot hoodie or some nigger from some hip hop video ... but that's just stupid.
