The new style of Margarito, reminded me a little bit of Julio Cesar Chavez, but different persons. Shane Mosley reminded me also about Meldrick Taylor hand speed, but Mosley possessing the better chin.
However, prime Mosley vs Margarito would still be an extremely hard fight for Mosley. Margarito and De la hoya are totally different styles. De la Hoya was boxer/puncher that had stamina troubles in the last rounds. Margarito is pressure fighter that has great stamina.
If Margarito starts pressuring early at prime Mosley to the body, then Mosley is going to have a long night. Mosley better keep the same stamina energy as Margarito, or else he is in a world of trouble. If prime Mosley can keep this energy level, then I see him doing the same thing that Taylor did against Chavez(first fight). Then probably Mosley will win by Unaminous decision.
However, if Margarito starts hurting Mosley seriously to the body. Then Margarito can stop Mosley.
Taylor was making Chavez look like a fool, in their entire first fight. But people did not realize, was that Chavez was grinding down Taylor with tremendous body shots. Mosley will certainly make Margarito look like a fool, but if Margarito is able to damage seriously Mosley to the body. Then Mosley is going to have a long fight.
Even Cotto made Margarito look silly in the first 5 or 6 rounds, but nobody was noticing Margarito hitting Cotto with some tremendous body blows.
It is very tough to keep your stamina, while someone is hitting you with awesome shots to the body.
But like I said, if prime Mosley is able to keep up with Margarito, and keep his rhythm. Then he Mosley takes a hard earn decision. However, if Mosley stamina start to go down in the middle rounds. Then he is in trouble.
The old Margarito used to start slow, but now, he is starting fast. So opponents are going to have to adjust to Margarito starting very fast.
I know that prime Mosley is going to have to throw more punches against Margarito, than he did against de la Hoya(first fight1!). Margarito is just known for his pressure, endurance, and his ability to keep throwing punches at 12 rounds.
It would be an interesting fight between Mosley vs Margarito. Margarito has a very different style than Vargas, Forrest, Wright, and the de la Hoya. Margarito just keeps coming foward and throwing lots of punches per round.
Well, all I can say is that we do not know the outcome. But I do know that it is going to be an uphill mad stamina battle for Mosley.
My respect for Mosley now wanting to fight Margarito. It is shameful that de la Hoya does not want to fight Margarito, but Mosley does.
