lol no ;) in all honesty this is one of those tunes mike has where he's probably the only one who can really do it right, with all the weird rhythmic things happenings and the way notes are attacked like those "flying" thumb strokes

For a brief, oh so brief while, Philadelphia hosted some incredible free concerts down by Penn's Landing. I had made a habit of coming down early to get a good spot. When I heard Michael Hedges would be there, I went down especially early. Good thing I did. I caught him doing mike checks and warm ups. An incredible free concert for about 5 of us. He did this great version of "She Drives Me Crazy". So sorry to hear of his passing, he was a true talent in this day of do-nothing celebrities.

Many of the levels for the game Half-Life were built listening to Michael Hedges. This song in particular brings back many memories of a struggling designer who'd just left RPI and moved across the country to try to make a career in game design. Michael's music will always be a significant part of my life.

Hedges was first and foremost a composer and a guitar player second. I care more about the music he wrote than if he was better than someone or not.
And his music is absolutely beautiful, and I would listen to it on any instrument.

Yeah, I took notice that many great players of this style often revoke their "Guitar Player" status and choose the musician title, and I really like that. It's not about the technique, it's about the music you hear, and whatever it takes to get that music to the listener is what's needed, but boastful.
I've heard Andy Mckee talk about that too. Great musicians.
