the world is full of self-styled musician who only want to prove how exaggerated is their obtuse virtuosity, and they play in concert as the gould's divine clown (I mean that gould talks about this kind of "musicians"..)
but kleiber was different, he was a man with a own individuality, he tought that performers have to trascend (I don't know if it mean what I'm thinking about...) a score or if not they have to look up for a new job
Es hat eine Eindringlichkeit, die das triumphierende Strahlen der neunten Symphonie nicht übertreffen kann.
But I agree with almost everyone else. Kleiber is an awesome conductor, though I found it hard to pinpoint where the beat was in some areas. (Not so much in this movement, but in the last).
And Beethoven truly was a genious, if a little ahead of his time.
Superlatives are just not enough here....
Such a shame he died...Those person should be immortal!
