i will pay anyone....who can get me the sheetmusic for this version. I have purchased 5 different versions, including the Hal Lenoard book called "The Billy Taylor Collection", and even it hasnt got the same transcription.....

Every recording I have of this legend performing this its different; it's Jazz, ask Keith Jarrett for his music and he'll look at you strangely...
Why not just figure it out, it's pretty straight forward incorporating a little blues and with the chromatic bebop scales, there you have it. :-)

there is a melancholy wistful tone in the way billy begins this - then it gets almost playful. gene harris does a great job with this composition too. inspirational is all i can say.

Man! I cant think of a more uplifting melody and verse than this classic provides. Nina Simone's rendition is by far the best of all. Billy Taylor is a world treasure. Incredible!

i dont mean to but anyone who has such a gift as this man does is exquisitely, wonderfully, joyously, free
the gift he owns - that exists within the tips of his fingers - is a ticket away from any burden he might face
he can sit down at any piano & escape into the beautiful freedom of making music
i think he is more free than just about anybody. very very few people can say that possess the freedom that bill taylor possesses
