this is a great song! I know how this feels bc i'm 17 and i was just with a guy and gave him everything i had and he just walked away like the love we made and i gave to him meant nothing and it hurts but you have to learn some way and i guess mine was the hard way bc no one can tell me anything. i cry when i hear this song bc of it but its a great song thanks!

Regardless of your musical tastes, this rates as one of the best songs ever. The harmonies between trish & Don cannot be faulted. For me, it's up there with Springsteen's "The River", and that is high praise indeed.

This song reminds me of my best friend who is currently in another state after leaving home w/her so called boyfriend. The only difference is she's 30 not 17 & she's got a 10yr old son that her parent's are raising cuz she's gone. She left w/o a word & barely calls to let them know she's okay. Her boyfriend also has a record & spent 8 years in jail for robbery. This song makes me think of her when I hear it.
