Artist Steve McQueen's debut film Hunger also won the Camera d'Or prize at the Cannes Film Festival.

Seen the movie on Wednesday and is by far the best movie ever about The Hunger Strike.
Bobby Sands is and always will be my hero as well as the other 9.

i think it was so honest and real. it showed sympathy 2 both sides. the reason why the prick in the mail didn't like it because it showed how the british government handled it sooo badly.

Yes couldn't agree more. My sister and I have had an agreement since the 80's that when the devil calls on Thatcher, we drop what we're doing and find each other and crack open a bottle of Champagne. Stripping the miners of their dignity, murdering 323 boys in the Belgrano, letting the 10 die.. just a few of the things her tortured soul will have an eternity to mull over. hehe, I was doing a clinical trial in a hospital a few years ago when news broke that thatcher had come in and was at deaths door. A group of us were going to go round celebrating, but sadly she recovers...let here contend with the misery of her dementia a few more years I say...(and I'd love to see blair with dementia too!)

In the movie Hunger if what was depicted,the brutality to the prisoners is accurate, the Crown has its own Abu Ghraib. Republicans should have been interned under the protection of the military.
The loss of life resulting from assasinations and suicides would have been restricted.

umm, no they werent, they were treated unequally because the majority of police and prison officers were also part of loyalist murder squads, they were imprisoned in a war, and were appealing for prisoner of war treatment, they were prisoners due to a political dispute, therefore making them political prisoners, therefore wanting the rights they were due
