I liked Ledger's Joker better because he didn't feel so much like a clown... He was foremost a criminal and used the makeup to get into peoples minds. Nicholson's Joker was more like a clown that had gotten angry

Jack Nicholson's Joker did not really terrify. He was entertaining and much more charismatic than Michael Keaton's Batman, but nothing about him really threatened.
Heath Ledger's Joker was genuinely terrifying, and sadistic. His character did not do things for money or fame. That Joker loved destroying things, lives, and creating chaos. Ledger's interpretation was much darker than Nicholson's, and in my opinion, closer to whom the Batman comic books imagined the Joker to be: a brilliant sadist.

Nicholson was brilliant as the Joker, but his potrayal was a little over-the-top, however, Heath's was one thousand times better, since his was as realistic as hell, and he was much more psychotic and wierd in his performance.

I dunno. I prefer jack nicholsons just because im a huge fan of him, hes an amazing actor. I think a lot of the Heath Vs nicholson people dont realize is that a lot of it is just script. jack could have pulled it off just as well, (in his younger days) but a lot of it was simply script. so shouldnt it be christopher nolan vs. tim burton? Both were great jokers. and both were great directors, but i just prefer jack nicholson because i've been a fan for a long time.

Not a lot of it was just script. Some of it was of course, but Jack nicholson couldn't have portrayed joker the way ledger did, and visa-versa. Remember they are 2 different kinds of Joker. One is dark and the other is the more comedic one from the early comics. I personally prefer Ledgers, but they are 2 different jokers from 2 different times.

Heath is good, but definitely not as good as Jack. The joker that Jack played was all him. Have u seen how much CGI was incorporated into Heath's joker???? Its not even him. Jack however, embodied the joker and is the epitomy of insanity.

I totally agree with that. You just can't compare them. It's be like comparing the Adam West Joker (I forget his name) with Jack Nicholson. Anyway, both Jokers are entertaining just in different ways. Nicolson if your looking for a classic look at the Joker and Ledger if your looking for a little more of a psychotic look at the Joker.
