I do have my facts straight. It's the unwashed masses that likes the junk that Coldplay puts out. Coldplay is very repetitive, unoriginal, bland, boring, and whiny. Music should be inspiring and not just "run of the mill," hence the statement I made. Take Viva la Vida for instance, they played Satriani's one small riff throughout the WHOLE SONG; you can't get much more unoriginal than that. I bet the instrumentalists in Coldplay get bored pretty easily playing their repetitive songs.

'unwashed masses' i think coldplay are a fairly decent band,their newer stuff kinda annoys me but chris martin can write some good tunes,especially the first album 'Parachutes' you do sound liek a music nazi,i like a shit load of differnt things and i guess i include some coldplay stuff in that and im def not one of the so called 'unwashed masses' although kaiser chiefs are the spawn of the devil.

I disagree completely.... The early stuff they put out is nothing like the viva la vida album. And how are they unoriginal when they incorporate different instruments that other bands don't often use; such as the piano/keyboard, violin, and bass drum? I'm pretty sure they are original in that sense. Plus even if they "copied" a few notes or riff from Satriani's song, it obviously doesn't make the song the same. It means Coldplay made it better since they are selling millions of albums.

That is backwards thinking. Just because they are selling many of albums doesn't make them better musically, it just means they are "popular" or just a fad. Look at all of the other pop and rap stars out there selling millions of albums but their music is painful to listen to for people who actually listen to the music.
They are not original for the different instruments, that's been done many times before it's just in recent years it's not so common among other pop artists.

I definitely enjoy lots of other music out there. Rock, Jazz, Indie, Blues, you name it. It's just that many out there just flip on the pop/rap radio and think it's heavenly when the artists are plagiarizing or doing a cover of another song because they can't think of anything to play for themselves. The music industry has been flooded with a lot of imitators and it's become very disappointing.
