Gilad, I pray every day for your freedom & your mental and physical protection. My wife and I also have a son, Richard, who's 24 years old. The anguish and stress that your Mum and Dad are going through must be massive.
Aviva, Noam, there are many, many people who care about you both & young Gilad. I truly pray that his captors will realise in their hearts that it would never be The Almighty's wish that you should be put through an ordeal such as this.

דג קטן ועדין שחה באמצע אוקיינוס שקט.לפתע ראה כריש שרצה לזלול אותו. הדג שחה במהירות רבה. כך גם הכריש. לפתע עצר הדג וקרא לכריש: למה אתה רוצה לטרוף אותי? אנחנו יכולים לשחק ביחד!
חשב הכריש ואמר: אוקיי, בסדר בוא נשחק במחבואים.הכריש והדג שיחקו כל היום עד השקיעה. בערב חזר הכריש לביתו. אמו שאלה: איך עבר עלייך היום יקירי? כמה חיות טרפת היום?ענה הכריש: היום לא זללתי שום חיות אבל שיחקתי עם חיה שנקראת דג. "דג הוא חיה שאותה אוכלים, אל תשחק איתה"!

בבית של הדג אותו הדבר קרה. "מה שלמך דג קטן שלי? איך עבר עלייך היום בים?" שאלה האמא של הדג. הדג ענה: "היום שיחקתי עם חייה שנקראת כריש" אמר הדג.
"הכריש היא החייה שטרפה את אביך ואחיך"
"אל תשחק עם החיה הזאתי" אמרה האמא של הדג
ביום שאחרי באמצע האוקיינוס גם הדג וגם הכריש לא היו.
הם לא נפגשו כבר כמה ימים, שבועות ואפילו חודשים.
ואז יום אחד הם נפגשו. שתיהם רצו במהירות לאמאות שלהם.
ולאחר מכן, שוב לא נפגשו הדג והכריש ימים, שבועות ואפילו חודשים.

So what if it is based on another story and that children were asked the write a story with a new ending. And as you put it, Gilad could have come up with an ending in which the shark would have eaten the fish after all. But he did not. He might not have been very creative by replacing the animals; it shows how he is.
Btw, he was kidnapped on a base outside Gaza, but near Gaza. And after the Gaza pullout even.
