Burton had no love for the characters? How so? Batman Returns, which was entirely character driven, thoroughly delved into the psychology of Batman, Catwoman, and Penguin. I'm a big fan of Nolan's Batman films as well but I believe Burton did just as good of a job with his own vision. And to 15thCrypt; Joel Schumacher directed Batman & Robin...not Tim Burton.

The first two 'Spiderman' films were awesome and overall pretty faithful to the characters. The third one was a little off, but I attribute that more to the source material. It wasn't as bad as everybody makes it out to be.

what a overrated superhero movie. this film is a combination of many of frank millers dark knight returns and sam hamms batman: blind justice amongst others. this movie is hurt by its lack of originality and creativity. although christian bale did a good job too bad chris nolan demonstrates a lack of understanding of how to direct good action scenes and obviously does not comprehend the source material. this is an ok trailer. too bad the movie just disappoints on most levels

True Batman fans wont compare this to The Dark Knight, both of these films were true to the name Batman. Batman Begins had a rough start thanks to the previous Batman films.

Goddamn what is with all the Burton hating? He did the first two Bat movies because he saw the potential for the characters. Also, his UNIQUE visual style is what sets him apart from all the other fucking boring directors (excluding Nolan, he rocks) like M Night Shyamalan or Roland Emmerich. Plus the Academy seems to think he's talented, which is a lot coming from those stuck up arseholes.

agreed.... people have to understand the fact that Burton's Batman and Nolans' are completely different and cannot be compared because they were 2 movies created in different time periods. Each has its's own strengths and weaknesses. seriously stop the arguments cause its never gonna end.

Look, I don't go and see movies for their plots, if I did, I'd only watch David Fincher and Martin Scorsese films,and both of those guys are far better than Nolan. I go and see movies because of the experience they offer. Burton is a director who offers emotional, visual fairytales. And I agree that Nolan's Bat movies are better than Burton's, but they don't offer any emotional involvement. Rachel's death was so clumsily handled it made Harry's death in Spidey 3 look like Marlon Brando
