I was so into these guys in high school. I actually got to see them in New Haven, when they opened for... wait for it.. David Gimour(!) back in '84. The crowd didn't give a rat's ass, but I loved it. (The headliner was good too.)
The songs from that first album still give me chills.

It sounds when the two sing in harmonies. But when it's just Ian it sounds a bit to dry.

Saw them live, circa 1985. Chris Sharrock was probably the most intense drummer I've ever seen. Surprised he didn't collapse during the show!

One of the Icies' finest, this. Always had a brilliant drum sound, sadly missing to some extent on most of Mr McNabb's later solo work.

I saw Icicle Works live supporting the Pretenders in 1983 - my first concert. It was awesome. Too bad this was their last good album...
Out of Season ... ( 4 months ago by hedgeanie)
Out of Season performed live at the Town & Country Club, Kentish Town, London in 1987, was almost like a spiritual experience for me. Ian's voice was amazing, he also let the crowd sing a couple of the lines, the atmosphere was electric. Always was (and still is) the most charismatic performer. Still well worth seeing when he gigs live with the current incarnation of Icicle Works, and when he's solo.
