Immortal, Invisible, God Only Wise
by Walter Smith. It is based on 1 Timothy 1:17: Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. The prevailing metaphor is light—light so glorious that it obscures the Object of our praise. Albert Bailey called this hymn "an attempt to express the inexpressible." It is certainly, as one critic said of it when it was first published, "vigorous in thought and rich in expression."
1. Immortal, invisible, God only wise,
In light inaccessible hid from our eyes,
Most blessed, most glorious, the Ancient of Days,
Almighty, victorious, Thy great Name we praise.
2. Unresting, unhasting, and silent as light,
Nor wanting, nor wasting, Thou rulest in might;
Thy justice, like mountains, high soaring above
Thy clouds, which are fountains of goodness and love.
3. To all, life Thou givest, to both great and small;
In all life Thou livest, the true life of all;
We blossom and flourish as leaves on the tree,
And wither and perish - but naught changeth Thee.
4. Great Father of glory, pure Father of light,
Thine angels adore Thee, all veiling their sight;
All praise we would render; O help us to see
'Tis only the splendor of light hideth Thee!

Hymn singing would be the right and correct way of worship in the Church services....And Christian Churches should practice, but a Lady who leads the congregational singing is not right, that should be a gentleman. let us put everything in order. and as much as possible or I would say that we should follow the old fashion way of worship. Using Hymnals and not projectors.

You are in error, sir. Remember that Miriam led the children of Israel in worship in Mose's time. And they didn't use hymnals! That is totally irrelevant, and you won't find it in the Bible. Let's not criticise how someone worships.

That was in the Old Testament time brother....And we are now in The new testament Church...It's not that I am criticising that Lady but Church Service should be proper and Man should always leads the Church...as the Bible instructed.

old songs once in a while - its important that we introduce the "modern" age to churches because this will attract young people and they won't think that church is just a boring, old place of boring worship. type in on youtube "even though i walk through the valley"

And they should not sing in English, that is not authentic "New Testament". It should be in Koine Greek, the language of the New Testament - you do read the NT only in the original language, don't you?
As for women, which bit of the New Testament do we follow?
Galatians 3:28 "there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus"
And if you want to rely on 1 Timothy, the woman leading the choir is not teaching or preaching.

Of course I'm not being a prejudice I'm just telling what kind of order a church should have.....you ought to have a very good service and i admire that you still stand in the old fashion way of worship but it would be more right if the one who leads your congregational singing is a gentleman and not a lady. look! a woman has a different role in the church.

Yes. Wesley said that the hymns should be sung "lustly and with good courage." The scriptures say that songs should be sung "with grace in your hearts to the Lord." If these ideas are followed (not just talked about), there is no problem with a hymn being "boring." The problem of our age is music that calls itself worship, but is actually not much more than entertainment.
