Crowley started his own religion based on Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law, and love is the law, love under will. If you will, read Magick without Tears - if you can find it - by Crowley. It's his last work, compiled and distilled, in the form of letters to a Sister Thelemite. It is his most lucid work ever. Avoid 'class a' stuff for now. Go for the man himself and understand what he was.

Thank you very much for the response. It seems almost entirely auspicious that you answered me on this particular day. I've always had a sort of bias against things Crowley had to say, simply because he seems so connected to 'strange' worship among other ideas, so I've always sort of pushed anything about him away. I recently read the BoL, and it scared me silly. I think his drug connections were another reason I always felt put off by him. Anyway thanks again for the reply, I appreciate it.

lol. Well, its easy to see why its still interesting. I'm not sure I agree with everything, or, maybe its more accurate to say I don't know about the/an underlying "doctrine" beneath this phnenom, but, the point is/seems to be a caring heart of and for all humanity Then again, what in the world do I know? Whatever the case, thanks for making it interesting, if not somewhat unsettling in what many of/from my upbringing might deem blashphemous It definitely calls for more than a single look.
